Washington DC Airport - Are they going to depart flights to London?
Brother is leaving Atlanta, Georgia tomorrow. He's going to Washington and then to London. Does anyone know if Washington Airport are going to let the plane to London depart?

The airports in the United States have nothing to do with the decision. The decision to depart or not is up to the airlines and the airport in London. Currently the airport in London is closed but there is talk about reopening soon. Your brother will just have to call the airline of monitor their website.

It's possible but I wouldn't count on it. The European aviation regulators are the ones closing the airspace over Britain, not Washington Airport (by the way, its proper name is Dulles International Airport; Washington Airport is a smaller airport located closer to the District of Columbia which does not service International locations). They hope to allow 30% of normal European flights operate, but it's anyone's guess which 30% those will be. I would strongly recommend packing 3-4 nights worth of clothes in his carry-on bag and making arrangements for possible overnight stays. Many travellers are stranded in hotels close to the airport so he may have to look further out. I can say, if his flight IS cancelled, he may be stuck at Dulles for a week or more; the airlines are significantly backed up with people wanting to go home. So he should be prepared for anything.

Is 1 hour enough time to change airlines in tokyo japan
Is 1 hour enough time to change airlines in tokyo japan?
Theres a flight in orbitz that makes you change airlines in japan and time between flight is 1 hour. if this is dangerously way too close why would they even sell this ticket? it doesnt say change plane, it says change airlines. im coming from Phillipines to airport NRT in tokyo and it says change airlines for the flight to Washington DC....remember its not change plane its change airlines, the airline change is from nippon to united

Yes, it's enough time, as long as your plane arrives on time!
2 :
Since it's just an international connecting flight 1 hour will be fine so long as your plane from the Phillipines isn't late (and if it is it's not a big problem, the airlines will help you get on the next possible flight). Both All Nippon and United are stationed in the Terminal 1-South area so I think 1hr is very doable.
3 :
If you are just changing gates you should be fine (if your plane isn't late). If you need to move your checked luggage around then its probably dangerous close.
4 :
It depends on certain factors, such as arriving and departing at/from the same terminal, having your bags checked all the way through (and the different airlines having an agreement to do it), the air traffic at the time you are flying as well as being on-time, etc. It is possible to make a connection within an hour if all goes well, but it is uncommon for different airlines to schedule a connection in so little a period. As to why they'd sell you such a ticket, it's because you are willing to buy it. Online places like Orbitz, Expedia, Travelocity, Priceline etc basically sell you the ticket, and as much as possible avoid doing anything more. If you need to change your flight date or anything the first thing they say is "call the airline", which is the wrong answer. Before an outbound departure any changes or refunds *must* be done by the issuing agency - since they issued the ticket in the first place. That doesn't stop their call center agents in India with fake English names from trying to dump you on the airlines though, making you wait on hold for 20-30 minutes just to have the airline say "the agent needs to do it". There's a good reason why they often refer to Travelocity as "Trouble City". In any case, you should call United and ask if an hour is a legal connection. If not, the agency is obligated to change it free of charge, since they sold it to you as a valid connection. Unless you want to assume the risk, but if you miss the connecting flight you are on your own.

if your airlines is late getting into japan and you miss your flight that airlines has to get you on a connecting flight to your destination, if it can't until the next day, they have to feed you and give you a hotel room. it happened to me with american airlines, in paris, i had to stay there two nights and almost 3 days all taken care for by american, i was going to israel, and the airport there is closed friday and saturday sabbat, lucked out great food nice rooms. your luggage will get to your flight so as soon as you get off your flight, find out where your connecting gate is and run

Try sidestep.com. Also check smarter travel.com. Each week they list which airlines are having sales. I know a few weeks ago British airways and air France had sales going on. Just keep looking, Tuesdays and Wednesdays are the best days to search because that's when most sales happen. Also expedia can alert you to price drops on selected routes.

Yeah. I've been doing some searching - it's difficult to find anything under $750 for that time period. You might do better bundling hotel and airfare. I managed to find a 5 nt trip London for two at under $750/pp by looking for air and hotel together. The airfare alone would have been more than $550/pp.

Easiest way get to Washington DC and back from Baltimore Airport
Easiest way get to Washington DC and back from Baltimore Airport?
I am traveling to DC for 1 day. I am landing at Baltimore airport at 9:30 in the morning and have an appointment in DC at 1:00pm with a return flight leaving at 8:30pm from Baltimore. Could someone tell me what are the best way to get back and forth is? I need to get to Massachusetts Ave which I was told is considered the NW area. Forgot to mention. It will be a Tuesday.

Go to the train station at the airport. Take the MARC train to Union Station in Washington. As to how to get to where you're going, Massachusetts Ave. NW is a pretty long street covering a number of miles. Go to www.wmata.com. Enter Union Station as your starting point. Enter the address for your ending point. The website will give you the choice of rail and bus to get you to your destination.
2 :
Just enter the information in the below URL and you can go to and from the Airport to your actual appointment. The express bus from the Airport to Greenbelt has gone up to $6.00. But the website will give you the entire cost. You might want to compare it with MARC. This is my help from Washington, D.C. United States of America. Please pick a "Best Answer", even if it is not mine. That way we can tell if we really do help people.
3 :
Take the bus. The B30. I took it myself this past March. Have some $1 bills ready. The bus will take you along the Baltimore-Washington Expressway into Greenbelt Station. Hop the Metro into DC and ask about Massachusetts Avenue. You're also good for all the area attractions. One thing about the Metro is that its good to read and maps while on the train, because the stations are so dark that you couldn't find a coin if it dropped in front of you. (DC Metro stations are designed that way. They look like a concert hall or theater.) Follow this link: http://www.bwiairport.com/en/travel/ground-transportation/trans/mta

MARC or Amtrak to Union Station. There's a shuttle bus that runs between the airport and train station. All you have to do is take the shuttle and take a train. If taking MARC, you'll want to check their schedule as they don't run in all directions all the time (their schedule can be pretty limited) and they also don't run on weekends. If taking Amtrak, you may wish to buy a ticket in advance. Amtrak's website: http://www.amtrak.com MARC's website: http://mta.maryland.gov/services/marc/?PHPSESSID=de19a79e532ea8b09f46fdf71867fb77 Union Station is on Massachusetts Avenue. Technically it's at 50 Massachusetts Avenue NE. You may be able to walk to your destination or it may be too far. Use Google Maps to get directions. You can also either take the bus, metro, taxi, or walk. Metro's website (metro and bus): http://www.wmata.com

Your first choice should be the Marc train. It will take you to union station which on Mass Ave. The shuttle from the airport will take you to the train station where you can catch the marc train. If you are coming during the weekend the Marc does not run so your best option would be the B30 bus to greenbelt. From there hop on the metro. Mass ave is very long and not walkable. Check metro's website to see exactly where you need to go.
