College Park is a suburb to the northeast of Washington. In order to get to downtown, you'll need to take the shuttle to the College Park metro station and take the Green Line into the city. The train ride to the Archives/Navy Memorial station near the National Mall takes about half an hour. From there you'll be able to walk to the White House, Washington Monument, and the Holocaust Museum, which are all located in the downtown core.

I agree with the previous poster. If you can get to a Metro station, you are all set. There isn't much in DC that you can't get to on Metro. Grab a map and be ready to reference it a lot but the Metro there is really fantastic. Follow the link below for directions to the Museum. You can't miss the Washington Memorial from there. If it's nice outside I highly recommend taking a camera and some good walking shoes and doing the loop of the memorials.

Did I get Swine Flu While I was in Washington, DC
Did I get Swine Flu While I was in Washington, DC?!?!?!?
I just came back from my trip to Washington DC and unfortunately my friends and I had to walk in the rain without any warm jackets. The next day I got a runny nose and a slight cough/sore throat. I did fall asleep a couple of times on the bus, but that's because we had to walk almost everywhere! Also on the flight back home(which is San Francisco)i fell asleep but that's probably because it was around 8-10pm at night . I'm worried that I might have or get swine flu. Can you tell me if I might have swine flu and what are the symptoms(if fever is one of the symptoms tell me in Farenheit). Just saying but I'm 12 years old. I don't wanna die young I wanna be with my friends and my...........crush. : ) And his name is Kyle. : ) ok now i'm going to the bathroom more is that bad?

3 :

4 :
ur bugging out...stop being so scared..u prlly just got sick...dont go crazy over this swine flu deal..
5 :
If you feel like you have the flu go to the doctor.
6 :
No, you're overreacting, lol. You're just catching a cold because you walked in the rain. Also, I live in San Francisco too so if I did get it then please don't spread it! Didn't mean to scare you there! You shouldn't worry about it. The symptoms are far more worst then what you been experiencing.
7 :
dont u think its just stupid to ask help online , no doctor would be able to come in to conclusion without examining the patient real , or checking the blood results , may be u should go to the hospital and get help from the professionals
8 :
Treat swine flu like the flu (influenza virus). It is really no worse, just a new strain. Do you have flu symptoms? Then take flu medication. Or better yet, talk to your doctor. That said: NO, you don't have Swine Flu.
9 :
Probably not. The symptoms are a sore throat, hoarseness, fever, chills, aches. If you have these go to the dr. and they will take a culture and send it off to CDC for testing. Overly tired sounds like what you have, but if you think you need to go to the dr. don't hesitate.

they have hyped up this swine flu thing, in the US all swine flu is is a flu. when you get it, you just go to the doctor and get it treated. its not like in mexico where if you get it you its hard to treat.. i think everyone needs to stop freaking out about it. and no i dont think you have it. diarrhea, vomiting, fever are symptoms.
11 :
there are symptoms such as fever cough or sore throat, vomiting, diarrhea, headache, chills, fatigue. Conjunctivitis is rare, but has been reported. so if you notice any of them then i would go straight to the doctor's/hospital so they can check you out.
12 :
lol dont worry even if you did you probly wont die it isnt as dangerous as excpected ;)
13 :
If your worried, ask your local GP. Well, I hope you dont die - I dont even know you, but it will be unfortunate to die at 12!

NEED HELP! How to get from Washington,DC(Dulles Airport) to Myrtle Beach, SC
NEED HELP! How to get from Washington,DC(Dulles Airport) to Myrtle Beach, SC?
I and my friend are in Europe now, and we are going to USA first time. We arrive in Dulles Airport Washington,DC on may 20 at 19.00, and need to go to Myrtle Beach, SC as soon as possible. Can someone help me to find the most reasonable and cheaper way(except flight, it's too expensive for me)? Thnx in advance !!! On greyhound.com i found a trip at 11:45PM, and they say that: "you must arrive at the terminal at least an hour before departure to purchase your ticket" how can i get to Washington Greyhound Station(Adress: 1005 1ST ST NE Washington, DC 20002) from Dulles(about 25 miles) in no more than 2 hours. THNX alot !

Go here http://www.greyhound.com/home/ See if those prices are good for you.
2 :
Renting a car is one alternative, though it may or may not be cheaper than flying. Greyhound [see their website] probably has bus service. And, if you can get into D.C., you could look into Amtrak [see website], although I don't know where the closest station to Myrtle Beach is. You might want to use Google maps or Yahoo maps to find out how long/how far it is between Dulles and Myrtle Beach. I'd guess it would take 8-10 hours to drive.
3 :
Frome Dulles you need to catch the Metro Flyer Coach service that will connect you to the Metro Rail orange line (subway). The subway will take you into Downtown Washington DC where you will transfer to the Red Line and then get off at Union Station. From Union Station you can walk to the Greyhound bus terminal. You should be able to do this in less than 2 hours but there is not much room for error. If you are running late you may have to take a taxi which will cost about $70 from Dulles to Washington DC Greyhound.
4 :
Greyhound has only one bus per day. It departs at 11:45 PM, 2345. It has 2 transfers and takes 11 hours. Suggest you buy on line. If this is your choice. There is a 10: Flights from Dulles 10:00 PM by U.S. AIRWAYS 10:00 PM by United Airways 10:17 PM by U.S. AIRWAYS 10:17 PM by United Airways 10:20 PM by U.S. AIRWAYS There are no flights this late from DCA . There are no flights this late from BWI . I would catch the Super Shuttle to the Greyhound Station. This is my help from Washington, D.C. United States of America. Scheduling to Get Bumped from a Flight
Scheduling to Get Bumped from a Flight?
We need to make a round trip from the Los Angeles area to the Washington DC area within the coming month and, since we're retired, we'd like to increase our chances of being bumped to a later flight in exchange for a voucher for more air miles. What what airports, what times or days of the week should we fly to increase those odds? Thanks in advance for your help.

First, choose the airline carefully; each has a different Contract of Carriage or set of rules they have to play by when they bump you. Some, like the legacy carriers (United, AA, Delta, etc) have a partnership with other carriers so if you're bumped off of a United flight and they can't put you on another United flight the same day, they will often put you on another airline's flight. Others like Southwest will not put you on another carrier's plane. Depending on loads, you might be waiting for more than a day (or two or even three) before you can get reacommodated. That said... LA to DC is a pretty heavy-duty business travel day. Your peak loads will be Thursday and Sunday, because most business travellers don't wait till Friday to go home, and they need to be ready to hit the office on Monday morning. There are fewer nonstops into DCA than there are into IAD. You may consider connecting through a big business city like Chicago, to increase your odds. That will give you more flexibility on the timing, too. Unfortunately it is also usually more expensive to fly on Thursdays and Sundays than it would be on, say, a Saturday, so you're taking a bit of a chance... good luck! If you have a travel agent friend you should ask them to look up flights that have low inventory; most websites will not show you how many seats are left on a flight, and the seat maps where you select your seats are not really accurate, but if you can find your inventory, you will have a better chance of booking into an oversold flight.
2 :
The busiest days to travel are Mondays, Fridays and Sundays. When checking in for your flight at the ticket counter you can make the request to be bumped if your flight is full and they will notate this in the system so that the gate agent will be aware. Also tell this request to the gate agent when arriving for your flight at the gate. The trouble is that every airline is different and less and less are giving you much for your time. Nowadays the most commen offering is to have you miss the originally scheduled flight and fly first class to your destination in a few hours. Most airlines are trying to stay away from providing vouchers for free future flights (although it does still happen it's much more rare).
