No, the closest is one stop with Air France via Paris. Air France flies to several West African cities, such as Dakar, Senegal. Delta Airlines flies via Atlanta to Dakar. Why do you want to go specifically to West Africa, and which country in particular? Getting around within that region can be tricky logistically and budget-wise, so I'd definately suggest specifically flying to the place you want to go to. For most options, I'd suggest enquiring with Air France. If you look anything like your Avitar, I would not go alone to places like Nigeria.

If you're just wanting to generally go to West Africa, there's a direct flight from New York-JFK to Accra. It's a nice country, safe, and there are flights from Accra to every country in the region as far as I know.

I'm going to be traveling to Jax, FL from seattle washington. On my flight back, i'll be stopping over at WAshington DC for about 2hr 46 mins. until my next flight to Oregon...Does anyone think there will be weather problem in DC around that time of the year? had anyone ever been delayed there for long, such as like more than 5 hrs? In my experience Washington weather in winter is unexpectable because it differs year by year. In some year, too much snow caused a big delay, but not always it happens. At least, if the weather condition is terribly bad, the airport might be closed. In this case, the plane might delay more than 5 hours. Actually, in my last trip to IAD in July, I was supposed to arrive before 7pm but actually arrived after 11pm because a storm closed the airport for a few hours. If this happens, you will be re-routed to the next available connecting flight. But the airline company will not give you a free hotel stay if the delay is caused by the weather condition.

Farmers almanac indicates a moderate winter in Washington. There is always a chance of delay in Washington DC. Unless its a blizzard, they are not usually horrible, the only drawback is its a later flight, which reduces your options in case of a problem. When flying with connections in winter I ALWAYS purchase travel insurance, I would suggest it for your trip as well.

Virgin America has great service on this route, I think Jetblue still flies out of Oakland non-stop. Both of them land at Dulles, which is a bit of a trek out of town. Price check your ground transportation before you buy your ticket--no point in saving $10 on the flight if it costs you an extra $30 to get to town, eh? Reagan National is the closest to dowtown, and it's not hard to take public transit from BWI into DC. Dulles, on the other hand...

The Airline pay for one day stay and we pay the rent and food for the second day. The hotle management said the Qtar airline will pay you later. Yesterday I chose reagan International as a airport take off point in the software. I realize Washington DC is restricted airspace. Once I learn to master chart reading, and Master GPS readouts, Ill be able to recognize Restricted airspace better. But Regarding the software, odd that MFSX has no national monuments programmed into the D.C. terrain! Wheres the White House? Wheres the Capital Building. AT LEAST wheres the Washington Monument? isnt the monument 800 feet high or better? In the simulator package. If you take off from south to north, with a North bearing, and if you follow the Potomac, the software shows RFK stadium near the west banks of the River. Do a 180 turn and go south over downtown and theres no monuments!!!!! They program some great detail into the bridges!!!!! anybody there have the deluxe version of the software? I have the basic edition. l

In the settings, make sure you have the higher amount of scenery selected. I believe it is under a "realism" tab. It may slow down your computer, though

i have the deluxe version.. you might need to turn up your scenery settings under the settings tab on the main interface. be warned that if you max everything, depending on the type of computer you have, it could drastically slow the game down!

i would guess about 3 hours since it is about 2.25 from IAD to STL, and MSP is north of STL. lemme go check though...I am assuming you are using Northwest because you are leaving minneapolis, but United is a possibility if you are going to IAD...I guess American if you are going to DCA. Aha, Northwest says it is 2 hours and 16 minutes to DCA...the more western of the two airports in DC. So figure about 2 hours and 15 minutes. Safe travels!

My son and his wife to be want to go on honeymoon to Liberia, Costa Rica. The flights I see from the DC area (or even Philly), are up to 28 hours travel time or leaving at 6 AM. Are there hub airports on the east coast that are better than others and also are there days to fly where we may get better deals? They get married the night of Sat Oct 4 so would leave Sunday midday or Monday for a week. Thanks

HI Im traveling from NYC to New Orleans and I have a connecting flight to Washington DC in between... I only have a half-hour to make my connection at Washington Airport- is this enough time? I'm a flight attendant: There are three airports in DC. The Washington National Airport (DCA) is probably the easiest to get around. But just to let you know, don't ever have a 30 minute connection! Always give yourself about an hour in between flights because there are so many things that could happen. Good luck on making that flight....

IAD is Dulles airport, which is out in the Virginia suburbs. You won't have enough time to see much of anything. If you were flying into Reagan National (DCA), then you might have a chance to see something, but in half an hour, that's just not enough time. Dulles is a pretty big airport, though, so you should be able to keep yourself occupied.

At Dulles you will be doing a bit of a jog, but depending on what terminal you are coming into/out of you should be okay. If you are connecting to the same airline, when you leave the plane go to the gate counter and ask them to call the gate agent at the NEW gates counter and let them know someone from a connecting flight is on their way, esp. if you have to change to a different terminal and go thru security again. 45 mins in the same terminal, so long as the flight is on time, should be plenty of time to get off your plan, make a run to the gate to check in then hitting the ladies room for a quick freshen up before boarding.

I'm a flight attendant: There are three airports in DC. The Washington National Airport (DCA) is probably the easiest to get around. But just to let you know, don't ever have a 30 minute connection! Always give yourself about an hour in between flights because there are so many things that could happen. Good luck on making that flight....

IAD is Dulles airport, which is out in the Virginia suburbs. You won't have enough time to see much of anything. If you were flying into Reagan National (DCA), then you might have a chance to see something, but in half an hour, that's just not enough time. Dulles is a pretty big airport, though, so you should be able to keep yourself occupied.

He is healthy but blind. He's a male dachsund. He's made this trip last year and it's time to go home.

When they get old they usaully just want to be home i wouldnt if i was you that will just stress him out maybe if you have a family member they could take care of your dog well i hope everything works out for you!!!!

If there are no health concerns I don't see why not. Are you saying that the other option is putting the dog down? I wouldn't, being blind doesn't change a dog's life that much, it isn't a concern when flying either. Good luck.

If he is a mini doxi and can ride in the cabin under the seat in front of you, I would do it. You might need a pee pad in the carrier. If he must go in the pressure treated cargo area here are the things to consider: Will there be a chance of time stuck on the ground? It gets too cold and too hot in the hold because the plane is turned off. Will they allow you to load him at the last minute? The fact that he's done this before is excellent news. I don't think Pet Air does transatlantic flights, however, many charter planes will fly people's pets in the cabin! Check with small airports in your area for people who own their own planes and go to France.

THe flight to Washington DC is 3 HOURS OMGGGG WHAT AM I going to do?????
Atleast its not 8-9 hours like it is when we drive to my grandparent's house!! lol But still.... you cant really be loud like me and my sister usually are sometimes on our car trips... Its hard to sleep so tahts out of the question. Me and my sister are 14 and 15 so waht can we do? We have our ipods, ds's (but we cant use the wi fi, so it would be kinda boring unless we just played by ourselves... Then we have a dvd player also, but what else can we bring? What occupies yall on air plane rides? Cause doing nothing is pretty boringggggg!!! because music and our ds's get boring after an hour or so... Hahah nice we did that once, they were alittle a head of us off to the side, and so we were watching the movie they were watching... it was great! I have heard of twilight, my sister reads it, but I HATE READING

I find reading the airline magazine, buying food takes up lots of time, and by the time you eat it, there's 30 minutes. Take a leasurly trip to the lavatory, look out the window, watch the movie (if there is one), rating songs on your ipod (thats what i did once!), nad one thing i once did on a 4 hour flight when the entire entertainment system was dead the entire time, i tried figuring out where we were the entire time by looking out the window and using the airline magazine.

The best is probably Delta connecting in Cincinnati, the total flight time with connection is anywhere from 3.5 to 5 hrs depending on how long the connection is. If you want to fly nonstop you can fly from Wash Reagan (DCA) to Louisville (SDF) with US Airways, the flight time is ~1hr 45 min.

If you're already in the Chicago area, check out the Southwest flights from Midway to DC Reagan. The flight may cost a bit more, but Midway is a lot easier to navigate than O'Hare and Reagan is actually located in DC, not in the burbs, so it's much easier to get into the city. I did this flight a few months ago and it was a breeze.

Hey, We've spent a good 5 hours looking for a flight that fits our budget and at this point, we're seriously at a loss. We need help. We want to fly from Washington DC (or nearby) to Fort Lauderdale, Miami, Tampa, or LA on July 1st/2nd returning on July 5th in $250. As of now, the only opportunity we've found is for $200 via Spirit Airlines. As a consequence of the pilot strike, we're concerned that if we book our tickets, we'll be stranded at the airport - something no one wants to endure. Hence, we're looking at other options. Because our airline budget can't exceed $250 per ticket and we really want to from DC to Florida, we're stuck trying to find deals and we need your help. We want to go to Florida because 1) we've never been, and 2) we want to head out to an awesome beach spot! A couple questions: 1. Can you help us please find the best deal you possibly can from DC --> Florida (Ft. Lauderdale/Miami/Tampa) or even California within our budget? 2. Where do we look? The latest flight is 8:28 pm from Dulles on AirTran for $388. It arrives 12:13 am. This according to Expedia.com. I doubt you can find flights that meet your timing, as the public generally does not prefer those type hours. PS. There are many web sites where you can book flights - Orbitz, Kayak, etc

Look at www.bestfares.com or go to www.aa.com. There lots of sites that can help you find something that comes close to your times, but since deregulation there are not any late night flights inside the U.S.

Hey. I'm trying to find the cheapest flight possible from Washington (either BWI or DCA. No Dulles) to Orlando (MCO) for mid-December. So far everything is averaging around $200 which isn't too bad, I guess. WIll I be able to get any cheaper, though? I couldn't get any response on Travelocity, so I'll have to extrapolate from personal experience flying from Charleston to Frankfurt. I'd guess 16 hours if a non-stop flight was available. Add at least four hours more if you have any layovers. Try other travel sites to see if you can get any better results.

Soroca is a Moldovan town situated on the Dniester River about 160 km north of Chişinău. It has no airport of it's own - you would need to take the marshrutka from Chişinău. Based on my experience taking a marshrutka from Odessa through Tiraspol and Bendery to Chişinău (ignoring the border crossing delays) which is about the same distance, you can bet on about 2.5 to 3 hours ride from Chişinău to Soroca. Also, there are no non-stop flights to Moldova from anywhere in North America - you need to change planes somewhere in Europe. Trying to use any American travel website is usually a total waste for travel in Eastern Europe - try hotelclub.com That being said, my flight from International Airport Chisinau (KIV) Moldova last March 31 had a flight time of 2 hours 20 minutes to Leonardo da Vinci-Fiumicino Airport (FCO) in Fiumicino Italy via Air Moldova's Flight 891. After a wait time in Rome of 2 hours 20 minutes, United Airlines Flight 967 got me to to Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD) in Chantilly, VA from Rome in 9 hours 43 minutes, for a total flight time of 12 hours 3 minutes. Based on my personal experience, you will leave Dulles one evening for the red-eye hop across the pond, change planes somewhere in Europe - likely Frankfurt or Rome - land in Chişinău about 6:00 the following evening, take an hour or 2 in the airport for passport control (slow) baggage claim (fast) and customs (variable), then 2.5-3 hours ride to arrive in Soroca about 10:00 or 11:00 at night - completely exhausted! Also: the marshrutkas almost definitely do not run that late at night - you will need either a taxi, a private car and driver, or a place to sleep in Chişinău that night to wait for the marshrutka the next day. You would use the North Bus Station (Gara Chisinau Nord) at 2/1 Calea Mosilor Str, Chisinau city center. A relatively new station, it is in close proximity to the Central bus station, Tatun CTC tobacco factory and the Calea Besarabiei market. The telephone # is: 373 (22) 411 338 If you have time, try out the new restaurant in the Botanika section of Chisinau city center called Eclipse - at str. Independentei 16/4. Excellent food and service with very reasonable prices (US$5-10 per person). The Purcari Moldovan chardonnay was wonderful - bring some back for me! Stay away from the Andy's Pizza chain - the food is even worse than an American pizza chain, and more expensive. Ditto McDonald's - it's awful! (except for the female employees' miniskirts)

Not sure to panama but I went from D.C to Atlanta which took about 1hour and 15 mintues then went from Atlanta to Honduras in 3 hours so I would say panama would only be about an hour longer than honduras so depending on where you connect but if its Atlanta it shouldnt take more than 5.5 hours in the air

How long is a direct flight from Washington DC to Osaka, Japan? yes, there are direct flights, because im taking one next week lol. im leaving from washington-dulles airport (techincally in virginia)

There are no direct flights according to Expedia. If you go from IAD (Washington DC) to KIX (Osaka) making a stop in SFO (San Francisco) it is a 19hr 28 min flight.

I usually fly through IAD (or DCA) at least once a day, but I haven't seen a direct flight to Osaka in a few years. I know that United used to fly a direct route several times a week, but that was cancelled a few years ago. But if you've got the ticket, I'm probably just missing something =] By the way, would you mind letting me know what carrier flies there nonstop? It might be useful if I ever get around to visiting my friend, haha. That being said, IAD to NRT (Tokyo) took 13h40 last time I flew it on ANA, so flight time to Osaka should be comparable. Have a nice flight, and hope this helps!
