Why are flights from Spain to Washington, DC delayed for 2 days when it's not even snowing anymore?
It stopped snowing last night in DC, yet the flight for this morning has been delayed for two days...??? from Barcelona

Where in Spain will you be flying from Ok so Barca http://www.metwashairports.com/dulles/874.htm There appears to be no direct flights to day are there normally direct flights

When it was snowing in DC, many planes were delayed, re-routed, etc. causing them to be in the wrong positions for the next flights. It can take several days to get all of the planes back at the correct airports and back on schedule.

This can be because the destination from which the aircraft is flying from can have delays or your destination airport can have delays.

If there were a lot of cancellations, the airlines have to reposition aircraft and get gate space as well. It takes awhile to sort out when a big snow storm hits.
