What does economy mean for an airplane?
We are going on an almost 4 hour flight to washington dc and it says the plane is economy...what does this mean? is it anymore special than a regular plane? oh ok.....................

That just means you are in economy class which is what most people are in. It means you didn't pay a lot of extra money to get better service, etc.

It sounds like you will be in a standard plane, just in the "economy" section which is basically standard seating.

Economy class is the lowest class of seating in air travel and also have cheapest fare. Although it is reputed to be uncomfortable, with limited legroom and amenities, it is favored by many travelers as it offers the cheapest seats.

Most of the airlines and aircrafts have all the classes but some do not have.
